Mini Getaway

We went to Houston this past weekend to watch the Astros play.  We had such a great time.  Like I said before, Abram did an amazing  job. while being away.  He truly has been such an easy child.  He pretty much sleeps till 9:00 a.m.  If he by chance gets up early lol like 7:00, I usually feed him and then we crawl back in bed till 10:00!

Thought I would show some pictures from our trip.  I have so many good ones so I'll try to keep it short.

Funny story!  We had a young man ask us at the hotel "if we did this on purpose."  Bradley and I thought he was talking about Abram. I kept thinking "I can't believe he asked us that."  Anyway's, we both said yes and looked at one another with a puzzled look.  Then it dawned on me that he was asking about his hair and the mohawk. I finally said "are you talking bout his hair"  The man very nicely said "yes, it is very stylish and looks good, you know that is starting to be the trend"

For the record: We do not do this on purpose..this is just the way his hair grows.  Bradley will get mad at me for saying this but Abram will never be sporting the mohawk. I do not like the trend, however, Bradley does and when I'm not looking tries to spike Abram's hair into this beautiful piece of art!!

Bad Mom, Best Child!

So I feel like I get the award for worst mom of the month.  (I upgraded the award a notch)  Abram has not really been acting himself for the past week and a half.  He has been so snotty and congested, that I thought a simple cold.  I called the dr. about  2 weeks ago and they gave me some medicine.  I think I need to throw in the whole not sleeping at night either.  He was waking up like 2-4 times  screaming in the night.  It just seemed like nothing I did could do or would do could console him.  Lol did you get all that?

Fast forward to this past Tuesday.... I thought *man he sure is still acting odd, so I decided to call the dr and make an appt.  I just knew they were going to tell me that he was completely fine and that maybe he was going through a growth spurt.  Ummm NO...he has an ear infection.  I felt so bad, b/c I knew he wasn't acting himself   for the past 2 weeks.  I am a little nervous though, the dr. made mention that he was a little to young to be getting ear infections already.  Just think... I haven't even sent him to day care yet.  I am gonna be in for a treat come August :(

Abram graduated to Level 1!!

He has been on rice cereal for a while and so far doesn't  really seem to like it!

Also, we have tried peas and carrots.  not a big fan of peas but sure digs the carrots.  Usually, after I clean him all up, I realize that he still has some type of food still up his nose.

I will take a few minutes to brag on Abram though!! We went to Houston this past weekend to an Astros game.  He did so well in the car to and from.  Also never once made a peep at the ballgame even though we kept him up till 10:30 watching the fireworks after the game.   Stay tuned for pictures of him all dressed up in his Astros gear!!!

He got himself a new Johnny jumper.  He likes it as long as someone is watching him.  I am realizing he likes to be the center of attention.  All eyes and voices strictly on him.

A Year Ago Today!!

It was only a year ago, today, that we found out we were pregnant!

Gulf Shores 193

Then it was just a few days later that we got goofy with the video...

This is how we told our parents and a few friends.  Our parents and friends showed a few more their friends the video and then those friends showed some more friends/coworkers...and even some bosses.  Before we knew it, we had random people (that we didn't really know all that well) that would comment about the video.  Anyways, hope you enjoyed the video and at least got a laugh in for the day!!

Oh yea, I almost forgot

The finished product....my healthy beautiful baby boy Abram Bennett Parker!!!

I absolutely LOVE my family!!

Mrs. Sherry's camera 062

I have to admit, it is so hard not to compare your child with another.  We are secretly wanting him to do some new things, but not really. In my opinion, if he does these new things then that means he is getting bigger and my time with him is slipping away to fast.

I have to congratulate Miss Naomi on her successful roll-over!!  You go girl!  Abram will roll from side to side but has not yet mastered the roll-over position.  He has however found his toes and doubles over while trying to eat them.  Sure am glad he doesn't have stinky feet!! :)  My grandmother asked me awhile back what new things could he do (roll-over, laugh, sit up..etc) I thought for a minute and then thought for another few minutes and then .....uhh ohhh I came to the conclusion that I don't put Abram down enough to know what he is capable of.  I hold the stink too much to even know.  Don't get me wrong....I put him down alot but usually he is screaming bloody murder cause I did the unthinkable.  At that moment he has gotten himself in such a tizzy that he doesn't want to accomplish anything except the how loud and long can I cry award!  We will get there soon, I just have to remember to hang on.

In other news:  Bradley and I are going to be Sunday School teachers for the young married's.    We are so excited that God has given us this opportunity to minister to other couples our age or around our age.  We know that with prayer and God's help that we can handle it and it won't be that frightening !

Hope everyone has a fun 4th of July!!
