1st Day of Hot Springs

So far it has been an adventure ;) I am so used to being selfish and worrying about just Bradley & I; that I often forget that my child has to eat. Calm down everyone...I'm not starving my child. I could kick myself for saying "I don't want to be the mama who has a schedule/routine for her kids." I still don't want to be that way but after 3 months he has a nap time and he has a bed time. When it gets all messed up...I'll just say, if baby isn't happy ain't nobody happy!!!

1st day in Hot Springs 061 We went to some garden today to see a glass chapel. The chapel and garden were beautiful, but boy did we walk ALOT. This is the 1st time Abram rode in his stroller without his car seat. I was afraid his head would wobble from side to side but he sat up like a big boy. He even took a nap. This is how much he enjoyed the garden's!

1st day in Hot Springs 040

After the gardens we went for a swim in the pool. I'm telling you, he is so stinkin cute in his swim trunks. As cute as he looked....his face wasn't so cute. He hated the pool and wanted to let everyone know. To his defense, Bradley did say the water was cold. Abram still didn't want to have a part in it.

I know I'm telling all of this in sequential order, but I thought all of my million viewers might want to read this!!!!! Towards the end of the evening we went for a boat ride. Lake Hamilton is so pretty and fun to ride up and down on. I was told that all the kids had to wear a life jacket. I guess I was thinking we had to have it on the boat "just in case." I didn't know he actually had to wear the life jacket that did not fit him. All he really knows how to do is lick whatever is close to his mouth. As Bradley said, the cherry flavored life jacket sure was tastin good to him!

Fun Times

For Memorial Day we went to Lake  Bruin.  Abram looked so cute in his swimming trunks. We had him a surfer style shirt that goes with his trunks but it was not  going to fit a month down the road.  The shirt was actually a 3-6 month so I had to move up to the big boy size 6-12 mo.

A cute picture of my naked boy also with his cousin Emily!

We have been having some not so fun times at night with this lil boy.  He has slept with us the past 3 nights b/c he refuses to sleep in his bed.  Or, if he sleeps in his bed he wakes up screaming @2 or 3. and then gets in our bed.  Bradley thinks I already have him spoiled on my 4 th day off.  Let me tell you...I'm hoping I don't go insane in the next couple of weeks.  I am somewhat ready to go back to school.  I can't even put him down to potty before he starts screaming.  This sounds terrible but I even let him cry for a solid hour so I could take a shower.  It wasn't the hard crying but it was enough for tears to stream down.

I put him on his tummy for "tummy time" and this is what happened.  He doesn't really care for tummy time.  I'm paranoid and don't really like it myself.  I'm afraid he can't breathe.  He doesn't really turn his head from side to side more just holds it up like a turtle!  Oh yea, he is doing such a great job at holding his head up.  It really does remind me of a turtle..all wobbily and straight up!!

A picture of our family.  Our niece Emily (Bradley's sister's lil girl) was dedicated at her church.  Had to go and support the fam in Clinton, MS

A half smile!  I can't keep his nails cut fast enough. Those suckers grow so fast. Abram is going to have tons of scars on his face from me not cutting them every single day!!

We are leaving on Monday for a week in Hot Springs with Bradley's family. Can't wait to get away for a few days! When we return on Sat., Bradley leaves out  for Las Vegas on Sunday.  I have already made a reservation at my parents house to stay with them for a few days.  I thought about going with him,  but after much talk and all the baby items we would have to bring/cart around we decided not to.  I now understand what moms are talking about when they say " it is just easier to stay home then get everything ready and go somewhere."  We shall see how next week goes......

To much to tell

So much has happened in the past couple of weeks...I'm tuckered out!   I guess I really should say "I feel like a lot has happened".

  • We went to see a pediatric urologist in Shreveport.  It was pointless and we wasted a day off from work. We were told to get on an antibiotic for Abram for a "possible kidney infection" and to come back in 3 months.  I hated putting him on more medicine for something "unknown"
  • Went back to our pedi. and he apologized for sending us over there and nothing happening.  He told us not to worry about it and that he would set us up with a test to know for sure if something was wrong.  So...we had more test done here in Monroe.  GOD IS SOOO GOOD!!!!  Nothing serious is wrong.  Abram was just  born with 1 kidney bigger than the other.  Dr. said it should not affect him later down the road and that we did not have to go back to the dr. in Shport.
  • I celebrated my 1st Mother's Day. I got a black/white canvas picture of Abram to hang in his room.  It is the one of him yawning (Scroll on down if you dont know what I'm talking about) I cried when I saw it, I just love Abram and the picture.
  • I celebrated my 4th year of marriage to my wonderful husband on  Thursday, May 8th.  He is so sweet!  He had flowers on the table for me and grilled  some yummy filet mignon with baked potato and salad.  He is big about me dressing up for this special occasion even if we are at the house eating and not going out.  It's only like this once a year he says.  Oh well, it does kind of make it more special to get dressed up for one another!
  • Only  3 more days of school with kids!!  HIP HIP HOORAY!!!!
  • Today is my 28th Birthday!  Birthdays are not so much fun anymore.  To be honest, I don't feel any older, just aren't a big deal to me.
  • I feel sorry for Bradley.  May is not a good month for him. Our anniversary,  Mother's Day, and my B-Day are all in May.
  • We went to 3 crawfish boils in the last 3 weeks.  We went to one for Bradley's work and they always give away door prizes.  Some are good and some are bad (in my opinion) Well my friends we got a good one.  We got a gift card to Waterfront, a local restaurant. Let me tell you they have the best steaks topped with some shrimp and sauce stuff. It ought to be good for a $30 meal for one!
  • I'm irate that airfare has increased this year.  Bradley is going to Las Vegas again for a conference and I wanted to go again.  Well the cheapest ticket we can find is $500. That might be pocket change for some of you but to us it is a month's worth of daycare!! So Abram and I might be vacationing at my parents house 25 minutes away :(

OH YEA, I FORGOT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING.....ABRAM IS SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  He has been doing this for a few weeks now.  This is going to sound crazy but, I couldn't wait till he slept all night through, now I'm secretly wishing and hoping that he will wake up just one more time for a feeding at 2 or 3 a.m.  As tired as I was, I now miss my alone time with him in the middle of the night....plus not to mention him snuggling and sleeping in bed with us.  He is a big boy now. He has graduated to his OWN baby bed.  See Bradley, that baby bed was not a complete waste :)!!
