Random Thoughts

More pics of Abram 001 More pics of Abram 004 Here are some pictures of him in his Easter outfit. Outfit courtesy of Mrs. Meredith.  He looked absolutely precious on this day and has enjoyed being a model  for all his new clothes. He has also liked to  show off his manly voice for those in the surrounding pews at church!!

Now that I've been at home for several weeks, I am getting addicted to this whole blogging thing. I also have my several other blogs that I check on more than one occasion during the day. Can you tell that I am looking for things to do to pass time?

Bradley and I had our 1st date night this past Saturday. Some friends of ours had given us a gift card to a local sushi restaurant and then we went to get ice cream. We were only gone for about 2 hours but boy was it fun!!! I love going out with Bradley especially to eat my absolute favorite...sushi!!!!!

I didn't realize how little boys have bad aim. LOL,just kidding. I have been whizzed on (as my dad says) one too many times.  Our biggest problem is when we go to change him he decides to show us what he's got and tinkle up in the air and then let it run down his side of his body...therefore getting another outfit wet.  At 1st we were going through like 4 or 5 outfits a day.  We finally got a pointer or two and decided to tuck "it" down so he doesn't leak out.  Here is a picture of Abram at my parents...after the 2nd outfit that he tinkled on and no more back ups...we decided we had to do a little laundry.   Thought his naked little Buddha belly looked cute.

More pictures of my handsome dude!

Do I look full or what? LOL this isn't very funny but I and only I am allowed to say this. I call him my lil Monkey!! First of all, he has some baby hair on his back and it's not blonde...then when he gets done eating he slumps over. For some reason, he reminds me of a monkey, I don't know why he just does.  I think it's cause his arms are long and then he just slumps down as if he is just so tired and worn out from eating!  He is starting to fill out a good bit. He doesn't look like that little newborn we brought home 3 and half weeks ago. I know he is still a baby but boy is he getting bigger :(

This picture was just funny to me. He has such chubby cheeks and kind of has Bradley's big lips....sorry hun but you do have plump lips.  Thought you might enjoy seeing a picture of us making silly faces on our new son!!!!

Here are some pictures of my boys!!!! I have always called my nephews my boys/babies.  Bradley keeps telling me I have a new baby now and that I can't have 3 babies at one time!! To tell you the truth I do have 2 boys/babies......Bradley & Abram.......now these are my two boys!!!!!

Now for the advice and questions?!?! I have done the unthinkable!!!! I have put Abram in bed with us for a few nights. I am now realizing you will do anything to get them to go back to sleep at 2:30 in the morning. How do you keep a newborn up so he will sleep at night? He sleeps all through the day and for the most part he sleeps at night, but it takes a good hour or so to go back to sleep after we feed and change. By then I realize that I have to do the whole routine (change and feed) all over again in about an hour or so.  Every night is different!! I guess I'm ready for some kind of routine where I know when he will get up and feed! I have only been doing this for 3 weeks and already I am complaining. I need to improve don't I?  Want to know something sad?   I even looked up online yesterday when newborns tend to start sleeping through the night!! Ok I will stop complaining, I need advice and tips as to how to get them into a routine and get them to sleep longer. I read where one lady said "mean business at night" change, feed, and then plop them back into bed..so they don't wake up anymore than they already have. I guess the whole point to all my rambling is....how much sleep do newborns need during the day and how do I keep him up during the day so he will sleep longer and better at night?  Do you think it could be b/c he sleeps in his bassinette at night and his crib during the day....or LOL he sleeps in his swing during the day. I pretty much put my child where ever he will sleep the longest!!!!!  Anyways, I am going to stop going on and on, hopefully all this makes sense and it doesnt show my lack of sleep!!:)

Cute as can be!

Abram 2nd week 008 I tell you, I think he is just the cutest thing ever!! He is so fun to kiss and love on :) We went to the Dr. on Monday for his 2 week check up. Hard to believe it has been 2 weeks already. He doesn't look like he is starving, does he? The dr. visit went well. Our dr. is somewhat old and actually he was Bradley's pediatrician when he was little. One of the reasons why Bradley wanted to  use him....I actually probably prefer someone who does not shake when he is touching my baby. However, he is sharp as a tack and you can tell he knows what he is doing. Plus it doesn't hurt when everyone that you talk to just speaks nothing but praises about him.  Funny thing...Bradley was holding Abram and the dr. was trying to look in his eyes but Bradley was to tall, so dr. asked me to hold him so he didn't have to stand on his tip toes. Oh yea and the dr. is pretty short too. Oh well, better get used to him...got a long road ahead of me! Back to the check-up ...the dr. said that it takes 10 days for a baby to gain his/her original birth weight back well Abram weighed 7 lbs even when we left he weighed 6lbs 10 oz, well I'm here to tell you that Abram now weighs 7lbs 10 0z. Dr. said that he is definitely getting enough food to eat...and I thought I wasn't doing the whole nursing thing right!?!? So now he weighs more than he is supposed to and he even grew an inch...we're at 21 inches. Abram 2nd week 052

I have to say, I am not sleep depreived at all due to the fact that I take a nap when he does. I am however exhausted of just having to worry about some one else other than myself. I know everyone else knows this but this is hard work being a mom. Anyways, I absoluetly love him and can't imagine not having him around. Just thought I would also throw this in, I have the world's greatest husband. Hopefully, it will stay this way when we have more children. He is so good with Abram and such a hands on dad. I just love him more and more. I loved him more and more after the surgery now I really love him more and more after the baby. He is just so good to me and I can't wait till Abram is old enough to see how wonderful his dad truly is!!! I'm gonna show you some more pictures of my handsome dude.

Abram Bennett

Well it's official, I have made it into the momma club! Abram Bennett was born Tues. at 5:13 p.m. He weighed 7 lbs even and was 20in. long. Delivery went pretty smoothly. If I had to chose which one to do over 1) carrying a baby for 9 months or 2) deliver a baby again....I would chose to deliver again. I ended up being able to get an epidural and got it very early, lol actually I hadn't even dialated anymore than a 3. For those who may not know, I went into early labor about 4 weeks ago and they had to stop it. Spent 2 days in hospital, dialated to 3 cm, and spent a week on moderate bed rest. He is absolutely perfect and could not have asked for anything better !!!:)

He got a clean bill of health and we are ready to go home. We are waiting for him to be circumcised. This is something I do not want to be around for. I already have shed a few tears for fear that Im doing something wrong or that I am hurting him. Lol we are also having a few issues with feeding. Last night went very well and today seemed to be great also. Hopefully, we are geting the hang of it and it wont be to bad. So far, I might say this has been the hardest part of the entire experience. This somehow does not come with the same opinions and stories as childbirth did. Everyone (mostly nurses) have each told me something different to do...not a single nurse has given the same advice. Oh well, from what I have heard it is all trial and error and there is always a back up. Here are few picture...We will post some more when we take them.
